About Us
Doodles was founded in September 2011 in Prague. Thanks to our broad musical tastes, Doodles' repertoire includes a colourful palette of musical genres, such as Renaissance music, folk songs, classical men’s chorus music from the 19th and 20th centuries, opera, spirituals, musicals, famous melodies from the Beatles, or 80s and 90s pop. The choir sings a capella as well as with accompaniment, and some of the songs even have choreography.
Doodles is the only gay men’s choir in Czechia.
We sing because we enjoy it
We try to contribute something new
We rehearse on a regular basis
That's the way it is for now :-)
Members
Since its founding, Doodles has doubled the number of its members, and there are now approximately 30 singers.
Marek Stanka
Choir Director
Average pianist with singing experience from his childhood and high school choir, who realised that he can earn a living working at a bank. Though no doubt, Marek’s talent and devotion to the only gay choir in the Czech Republic lets his musical colours shine through the grey clouds of the financial world.

Slávek
Tenor
Slávek has been singing since childhood, first with his mother in the kitchen, then in a mixed choir in Znojmo. At university, he sang in the choir 440 Hz. He was invited to join Doodles by his friend Tomáš. Slávek enjoys singing in choirs and the company of good friends.
Karel
Tenor
Karel started singing at art school and continued in the chamber ensemble of Masaryk High School in Vsetín. He also likes to sing and play guitar with friends around the campfire. Karel is a railway enthusiast.
Jirka
Tenor
When Jirka attended a singing course for non-signers a few years back, he did not realise how much it would affect him. He not only had the opportunity to listen to music, but also to share in interpreting it.
Patrik
Tenor
Patrik joined the choir in 2015. Five years ago, he started singing on a more professional and stable level in another choir, where he found his place, and his motivation and passion for music was so great that he has been taking private singing lessons for the past three years. In addition, Patrik enjoys nature and travelling.
Radovan
Tenor
Radovan has been singing since he was six years old wherever possible, and he takes this pretty seriously. He is a traveller at heart, and notes for him are like a musical timetable. He enjoys classical as well as popular music. Radovan sometimes misbehaves at rehearsals, but only when he’s in the mood.
Antonín
Baritone
Although Tonda sang in a choir as a child and played the piano, he soon realised that he is more interested in chemistry and biology. He has enjoyed returning back to singing, as well as beekeeping.

Jaro
Baritone
As a child, Jaro did ballroom dancing. In high school, he traded it for choir. He loves show tunes and gospel music, and from time to time he writes some music himself.
Slávek
Baritone
Music is the shorthand of emotion. Emotions, which let themselves be described in words with such difficulty, are directly conveyed to man in music, and in that is its power and significance (Leo Tolstoy). And I thank Doodles for the challenge and opportunity to be a better and better stenographer of emotion.

Míra
Bass
Míra has always enjoyed taking trips with friends and singing by the campfire, and so he was asked if he wanted to sing and train his voice under professional direction. After a moment of hesitation, he accepted the invitation, and today he is happy he did.
Jenda
Bass
Honza has enjoyed singing since childhood and sang in his high school choir. The choir is not only a hobby for him, but also a challenge to push himself beyond his limits and to improve himself. He likes good food, gardening, and his dog. Honza makes a living as a “magician with numbers” in the healthcare industry.
Jano
Bass
Although Jano has no education in music, singing got under his skin thanks to his musical
family. A few years ago, he realised that singing in a choir is a pleasant experience, and his appetite to sing has never left him. After years without singing, he gladly accepted the offer to
join Doodles, and he does not regret this decision.

Radek’s love for hard rock and classical music drew him to singing as a teenager. He then developed an addiction to Indian mantras. He is a persistent photographer and an enthusiastic hiker. Radek joined Doodles in September 2016.
